Konami has nailed down a UK release date for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC versions of PES 2014.

The football sim will be released on September 20th. That’s exactly one week before the arrival of the current-gen version of EA’s FIFA 14.

The PS2 and PSP versions of PES 2014 will release at a later, as of yet unconfirmed, date. A playable demo will be released on September 11th on PS3 and September 12th on Xbox 360 – the FIFA 14 demo will roll out on September 10th.

PES 2014 is based on a brand new build constructed using the Fox Engine – that’s the same beast that’s powering Metal Gear Solid 5.

The big technical improvement Konami is pushing is called TrueBall Tech wherein the ball reacts separately to the player. When receiving the ball users are able to separately control a player’s weight and direction of travel.

There have also been changes to jostling between players fighting for possession as well as a boost to the visuals.

Konami have also confirmed that the PES 2014 cover will not feature individual players but instead focus on the Champions League licence.

Konami recently announced that a PES 2014 demo would be available from September 11 on PS3 and the following day on Xbox 360. The company said it will offer several playable teams in a full match scenario, as well as a tutorial element.

The publisher has confirmed a PES 2014 release date of September 20 in the UK. The Xbox 360, PS3 and PC title will launch on September 24 in the US, the same day FIFA 14 hits shelves. The European FIFA 14 release date is September 27.

PES 2014 is built with an adapted version of Kojima Productions' Fox Engine. The Tokyo based PES production team is said to have been "developing a new approach to football for four years based on six founding standards".

A list of PES 2014 Achievements was been posted online earlier this month.
